The Truth About UFO Healing Accounts: 300+ Cases Documented

UFO Healing Accounts

By Sanjay Kapoor, Ufologist

When most people think of UFOs, they imagine metallic discs zipping across the sky, alien abductions, or government cover-ups. The typical narrative involves fear, invasive examinations, and potentially hostile intentions. But there's a surprising and largely overlooked dimension of the UFO phenomenon that challenges everything we think we know: hundreds of documented accounts of physical healings attributed to UFO encounters.

This isn't just folklore or wishful thinking. UFO researcher Preston Dennett has meticulously documented over 300 cases of individuals who attribute physical recovery to encounters with unidentified aerial phenomena. These cases span more than a century and come from across the globe, suggesting a consistent pattern that transcends cultural boundaries.

Could beings capable of interstellar travel possess healing abilities that far surpass our medical technology? Are there patterns in who receives these alleged interventions and why? Most importantly, could these accounts transform our understanding of UFO interactions from fearful to beneficial?

The Pioneering Research

Preston Dennett began investigating the paranormal in 1986 after discovering family members, friends, and coworkers were having unexplained encounters. His path took a specific turn when he met a woman who reported being healed of a cyst during a contact experience. Intrigued, he searched existing literature and quickly found over 30 similar cases-far too many for the article he'd planned to write.

"I decided I would write an article about UFO healing cases because I knew of several others in the literature," Dennett explains. "I thought this would make an interesting study and I found more than 30 cases very quickly, realized this was far too much information for a little article, and ended up doing a full-length book on it."

This became his 1996 book "UFO Healings," which documented over 100 cases. More than two decades later, his expanded work "The Healing Power of UFOs" (2019) presented three times the original number of cases, many never before published.

After investigating these reports for over 25 years, Dennett reached a remarkable conclusion: "Healing humans is one of the primary alien agendas on our planet."

Dennett wasn't the first to recognize this pattern. In 1970, Gordon Creighton, editor of the UK's "Flying Saucer Review," published an article titled "Healing from UFOs" outlining about ten cases and urged researchers to take them seriously.

What's particularly telling is that researchers with varying perspectives on UFOs have documented healing cases. When Dennett approached Budd Hopkins, known for his work on troubling abduction accounts, Hopkins confirmed he had "quite a few" healing cases in his files. Similarly, Dr. David Jacobs, who takes a somewhat negative view of UFO contact, acknowledged numerous cases of people healed of conditions including pneumonia and diphtheria.

Dr. Edith Fiore, the first person with a PhD to write about UFO contact, reported that fully 50% of her clients had experienced healings. Other respected researchers including Barbara Lamb, Brad Steiger, and Yvonne Smith have contributed cases to this growing body of evidence.

The Spectrum of Reported Healings

The range of conditions reportedly healed through UFO encounters is remarkably diverse, from minor injuries to terminal illnesses.

Injuries and Flesh Wounds

More than 70 documented cases involve rapid healing of injuries. One of the most compelling occurred in Damon, Texas in 1965, when police deputies Robert Goode and McCoy encountered a large UFO that sent down a beam of light. The beam struck Deputy Goode's hand, which had been bandaged due to a bite from his son's pet alligator. When Goode removed the bandage shortly after, the wound had completely vanished.

This was no isolated incident. A medical doctor from France experienced a similar healing after seeing two disc-shaped UFOs outside his home. A beam of light struck him, and he woke the next morning to find his partial paralysis from war injuries gone and a serious ankle wound completely healed.

Colds, Minor Illnesses, and Ailments

Strangely, over 50 cases involve the healing of non-life-threatening conditions. Chuck Doyle, a 13-year-old boy from Florence, Kentucky, saw a UFO hovering over a neighbor's pool. A beam of light from the craft struck him, and afterward his severe head cold disappeared-confirmed by a doctor who examined him shortly after.

This category raises an intriguing question: Why would entities capable of interstellar travel concern themselves with curing the common cold? The contrast between the technological sophistication required for interstellar travel and the mundane nature of these healings adds another layer of mystery.

Serious Illnesses and Chronic Diseases

The largest category, with more than 120 cases, involves serious or chronic conditions. A woman from Norway with no history of UFO encounters reported being visited by gray entities who used a cylindrical instrument to cure her chronic back pain from a severe injury. She was quite frightened as they "started flipping her around like a rag doll," but the results were unmistakable-her pain was gone.

Jim Law from Florida suffered from a hernia his entire life until gray beings appeared by his bed, acknowledged his condition, and used a handheld device to heal him. When he asked why they kept taking him, they responded: "We are interested in your genetic potential to live a long time."

Eye conditions feature prominently in these accounts. Howard Menger, blinded by an injury on Okinawa, claims he was healed by a mysterious nurse whom he later recognized on board a UFO. Others report being cured of myopia, glaucoma, and even color blindness.

In one remarkable case, a police officer from England who had been rendered infertile by an assault was allegedly healed during a UFO encounter. The validation came when his wife became pregnant, leading her to initially accuse him of infidelity because doctors had declared his condition permanent.

Cancer: The Ultimate Test Case

Perhaps most striking are the 40+ documented cases of cancer healing. Helena Charbonneau was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that had spread to her breasts, liver, kidney, and spleen. After doctors told her nothing more could be done, she went home to die. Then came an encounter where she was taken aboard a craft and underwent what she described as "a long painful operation." When subsequently rushed to the hospital due to vomiting, doctors were astonished to find her cancer gone.

In another case, a man actually filmed a luminous orb as it entered his body. The next morning, a large tumor on his neck had disappeared. His medical records, which he shared with Dennett, noted "miraculous healing" or "spontaneous remission," though doctors naturally avoided attributing the cure to extraterrestrial intervention.

Health Upgrades

Some accounts go beyond healing to describe what might be called "health upgrades." John Hunter Gray, a civil rights worker, reported more than 20 physiological improvements following an encounter: scars healed, he lost weight, stopped smoking, grew two inches (in middle age), his feet grew two sizes larger, and he stopped getting the flu.

A bicycle racer claimed enhanced performance after his encounter, consistently winning races due to newfound strength and speed. Perhaps most bizarre is the case of a 73-year-old night watchman who, after a UFO encounter, began growing a third set of teeth-a case verified by more than 60 doctors and officials.

Animal Healings

The phenomenon extends beyond humans. Joy Davies from Pennsylvania encountered human-looking but hairless entities with dark eyes near a landed UFO. Following her encounter, not only was her severe arthritis gone, but her aged dog, also suffering from arthritis, appeared completely rejuvenated as well.

Methods of Healing

The reported healing methods follow consistent patterns across hundreds of cases, suggesting either a common source or a shared psychological framework.

Light and Energy

Light appears to be the primary healing method in a majority of accounts. Whether emitted from the craft itself or from handheld instruments, beams of light are described as warm, tingling, and sometimes accompanied by visible energy pulses. This parallels some energy healing practices like Reiki, raising questions about whether advanced beings might manipulate fundamental energy in ways that human practitioners are only beginning to understand.

Handheld Instruments

Many contactees describe cylindrical instruments used in their healing. Jim Law witnessed gray beings use such a device to cure his hernia. In another case, a man named Andrew from Texas had kidney stones removed using an instrument that, when drawn by the experiencer and shown to a doctor, was recognized as similar to devices used in modern kidney stone treatment.

Fred White of Durham, England, reported being healed of a hole in his heart by a human-looking figure using a watch-like device without a dial. The entity told him he was being healed because "they were very interested in his work with electronics," providing a clue about possible selection criteria.

Pills, Salves, and Liquids

Some accounts involve physical substances. Jim Sparks and another contactee were given vials of "black goo," identified by the entities as pollution extracted from their lungs with instructions to stop smoking.

In a remarkable case from Brazil, a hospital doorman named Zhao Valerio was given a crystalline substance by entities to treat a boy with a cerebral aneurysm. The substance melted at body temperature and, when applied to the boy's skin, somehow regenerated his nervous system. Scientists analyzed the substance and confirmed it was chemically unique but couldn't identify its composition.

Hands-On Healing

Some accounts describe entities performing healing without instruments, using what appears to be a form of hands-on energy work. This method often involves entities placing their hands near or on the affected area, accompanied by sensations of heat or tingling energy-similar to descriptions of various human energy healing practices.

Medical Procedures Onboard

For serious conditions like cancer, more intensive procedures are reported. Helena Charbonneau described a "long, painful operation" aboard a craft. Ted from Northern California, suffering from angioma (a malformation of blood vessels in the brain), reported that entities actually cut open his head and used laser-like instruments on his brain. His complete recovery so astonished doctors that they ordered exploratory brain surgery, finding the vascular malformation had indeed been corrected.

Where Healings Occur

The settings of these reported healings challenge conventional notions about when and where UFO encounters might happen.

Homes and Bedrooms

Approximately 22% of reported healings take place in people's homes, particularly bedrooms. The Norwegian woman with back pain, Jim Law with his hernia, and Michael Carter with his blood clot all report entities appearing directly in their bedrooms to perform healing. This intimate setting contradicts the idea that UFO encounters are limited to isolated rural areas or highways.

Onboard Craft

Nearly half (49-50%) of documented healing cases occur aboard a UFO. This setting appears especially common for severe illnesses like cancer, suggesting a need for specialized equipment or controlled environments. These accounts typically involve being physically transported to the craft, sometimes through solid objects like walls, followed by an examination and procedure in a clinical-like setting.

Outside Encounters

About 20% of cases happen outdoors, with individuals being healed while walking or driving. The Damon, Texas police officers, Chuck Doyle, and a Peruvian customs official all experienced healing beams while outside. UFOs often hover overhead, sometimes circling before sending down directed energy.

Hospital Healings

Perhaps most surprising, 10-12% of reported healings occur inside hospitals themselves. Dennett cites the Koichan Hospital in Canada, where nurse Doreen Kendall witnessed a UFO hovering outside the children's ward. In other cases, entities reportedly appear in hospital rooms, sometimes interacting with patients preparing for surgery.

This crossover with conventional medical settings raises fascinating questions about whether these entities are monitoring our medical facilities or specifically intervening when our treatments are insufficient.

Who Gets Healed and Why?

Who receives these alleged extraterrestrial interventions, and what might that tell us about the motivations behind them?

The Helper Pattern

While Dennett found no consistent patterns based on age, gender, race, or religion, a compelling trend emerged when he looked at occupations and life purposes. A significant number of healing recipients were actively involved in helping humanity: social rights workers, doctors, teachers, inventors, artists, and healers.

John Hunter Gray, a civil rights worker who had won multiple awards, experienced numerous physiological improvements after his encounter. Michael Carter, described as "the kindest man you would ever want to meet," a reverend and social rights worker commended by President Clinton for his work against racism, was healed of a potentially fatal blood clot.

This led Dennett to conclude that the entities appear to be "helping people who are helping others," suggesting a potential ethical criterion for selection.

Prior Contact

Approximately half of the people reporting healings had previous UFO encounters. Richard Rilke from New Jersey claims to have been healed on at least five different occasions since childhood. This suggests that ongoing relationships might develop, with healing as one aspect of continued interaction.

The Prayer Connection

In about 5-10% of cases, individuals prayed specifically for healing before their encounter. The gentleman from Belgium with the foot problem went to a local park and prayed for healing, subsequently receiving a visit from entities who healed him. This adds a potential spiritual dimension to the phenomenon, suggesting that directed intention might play a role in some cases.

Multiple Interpretations

How do we make sense of these accounts? Multiple frameworks offer different perspectives.

Benevolent Intervention

Researchers like Preston Dennett view these healings as evidence of a positive alien agenda. "They're not here to hurt us," Dennett asserts. "One of their primary missions is the healing of all humanity." From this perspective, the accounts reveal benevolent entities with advanced medical technology far beyond our own, selectively interacting with humans for beneficial purposes.

This interpretation considers the warnings often given during these encounters-against environmental destruction, nuclear proliferation, and war-as further evidence of protective, rather than harmful, intentions.

The Abduction Context

Healing sometimes occurs within what might otherwise be classified as "abduction" experiences. Could healing be a form of compensation for unwanted examination? A way to maintain the health of subjects being studied? Or evidence that the entire "abduction" framework mischaracterizes what is primarily a benevolent interaction?

Budd Hopkins, known for his work on abductions, acknowledged healing cases but remained uncertain about their significance, noting that "some people are healed and others aren't."

Psychological Perspectives

A Harvard study led by Richard McNally provides a psychological angle. The study found that people who sincerely believe they've been abducted show physiological responses to these "memories" similar to those experiencing genuine trauma. The researchers suggest a combination of sleep paralysis with hallucinations, hypnotic suggestion, and pre-existing beliefs might create these experiences.

From this perspective, reported healings could represent misattributed natural recoveries or psychosomatic improvements triggered by the powerful belief in extraterrestrial intervention. The placebo effect, which produces real physiological changes through belief alone, might explain some cases.

However, this framework struggles to account for cases with medical documentation of instantaneous healing, third-party witnesses, or healings of conditions not known to respond to placebo.

Spiritual Interpretations

At venues like the Conscious Life Expo, UFO healing accounts blend with broader spiritual narratives. Viviane Chauvet, who claims to be "an interstellar Arcturian being who ascended thousands of years ago," represents the perspective that certain extraterrestrial races (particularly Arcturians) are focused on healing and spiritual development.

On Etsy, sellers offer services like "access to the healing technology of the Arcturians" via Skype sessions, demonstrating how these beliefs have entered the spiritual marketplace.

Historical Parallels

Some researchers note parallels between modern UFO healing accounts and historical narratives of gods bestowing medical knowledge. The Indian physician Sushruta, credited with developing surgery and ayurveda, claimed to have received this knowledge from the god Dhanvantari. Similarly, the Egyptian god Thoth was associated with healing wisdom.

From this perspective, UFO healing narratives might represent a technologically updated version of humanity's ancient hope for divine intervention in times of suffering.

Religious Interpretations

Some religious perspectives interpret UFO phenomena-including healings-as deceptive spiritual entities. This view notes that in many cases, invoking the name of Jesus reportedly stops abduction experiences. The CE4 Research Group has collected over 400 accounts where abductions ceased upon calling on Jesus.

From this perspective, any healing would be viewed as either temporary or deceptive, part of a strategy to gain the experiencer's trust or lead them away from traditional faith.

Persistent Questions

Despite decades of research, fundamental questions remain about UFO healing accounts.

Motivation

If these accounts represent genuine contact, what motivates these interventions? Dennett's research suggests helping those who help humanity might be one criterion. In Jim Law's case, entities expressed interest in his "genetic potential to live a long time," suggesting research into human longevity.

Some contactees report being told that full-scale intervention is not possible because "it's up to you to solve your own problems," indicating a philosophy of limited assistance rather than wholesale rescue.

Evidence

The challenge of obtaining definitive proof remains paramount. While some cases include before-and-after medical records, physician testimony, or physical evidence (like the unidentified crystalline substance given to Zhao Valerio), most rely primarily on experiencer testimony.

The gentleman who filmed an orb entering his body before his tumor disappeared represents a rare case with visual documentation. More such evidence would be required for mainstream scientific acceptance.

Hospital Connections

The reports of healings occurring within hospitals raise fascinating questions about these entities' awareness of and interaction with human institutions. Are they monitoring our medical facilities? Do they recognize limitations in our treatment capabilities and selectively intervene? The implications extend beyond medicine to broader questions about ongoing surveillance and interaction.

Consciousness Factors

The intersection between consciousness, belief, and physical healing remains poorly understood even within conventional medicine. The placebo effect demonstrates that belief alone can trigger measurable physiological changes.

Could the encounter experience itself-regardless of its external reality-activate healing processes? Alternatively, might consciousness play a role in facilitating contact with non-human intelligence?

Classified Technology

A persistent thread in UFO research suggests governments may have recovered advanced technology, including medical devices, from crashed craft. If true, this raises ethical questions about the privatization of potentially life-saving medical advances.

The healing devices described by contactees-using light, energy, or non-invasive scanning-bear similarities to emerging medical technologies, though the reported instantaneous results far exceed current capabilities.

The hundreds of documented UFO healing accounts present a compelling and under-examined aspect of the broader UFO phenomenon. Whether interpreted as literal extraterrestrial intervention, psychological experience, spiritual encounter, or something else entirely, these reports challenge our understanding of both medicine and potential non-human intelligence.

Rather than the fearful narratives that dominate UFO discourse, these accounts suggest the possibility of benevolent interaction-entities with capabilities far beyond our own, apparently choosing to alleviate suffering in select cases. While proof remains elusive, the consistency, volume, and global distribution of these reports merit serious consideration.

As we continue to search the cosmos for signs of intelligent life, these accounts remind us that contact-if it exists-might take forms we haven't anticipated, occurring not just in distant skies but in hospital rooms, bedrooms, and other intimate spaces where human suffering meets the unknown.
